Press & media

One family. Southernmost to northernmost. Love left at every stop.

Everything a newsroom, podcast, or local paper needs — the story, the mission, photos, and a real person who answers her own email.

The story

Why we're going

The Leave a Little Love Project began with a question our family couldn't shake: what would happen if we stopped waiting until we had more to give — and just went?

So we're packing up — two parents, two little boys, and grandparents along for the ride — and driving from the southernmost point to the northernmost point. In every community along the way, we'll ask one question: what do you actually need this week? Then we'll show up and do it — a cleanup, a pantry shift, a supply run — and tell the story of the people already doing the quiet good work there.

Small-town and coastal nonprofits run on a handful of volunteers and almost no visibility. They don't lack purpose; they lack hands on ordinary weekdays, and someone to tell their story. We want to be both.

The mission

The short version

What it is
The Leave a Little Love Project — one family travelling from the southernmost point to the northernmost point, helping with local causes along the way and sharing the stories.
Who
Annalyse Nettles, her husband and their two little boys.
Why
Slowing down long enough to notice real life: human connection, helping people, being a little ridiculous, and leaving each place a bit better than we found it.
How communities are involved
Each stop is shaped with the people who live there — a cleanup, a supply drive, a local cause, a small business, a tradition worth showing off.
Status
Route, timing and funding are still coming together. Nothing is locked in, and we say so honestly.

News & updates

Where things stand

The latest first. If you need something more current than what is here, just ask — I answer my own email.

  1. Interviews

Interview booking is open to reporters

Reporters can now pick a time that works around two small children — weekday mornings, middays, a couple of evenings, or Saturday morning — and get the press kit emailed straight back.

  2. Press kit

The press kit and media package are published

A printable press kit, cleared family photos, quotes, boilerplate and brand files are all downloadable from the media kit page, no request needed.

  3. Communities

    Stop-by-stop collaborations are being confirmed

Every stop on the route is planned with a local organisation rather than around one, so the give-back is something that community actually asked for that week.

  4. Design

A sticker design made for each collaboration

Each community collaboration gets its own sticker design and a one-page overview of what the two of us are doing together, made with Social Sticker Co.

  5. Route

The route is set: southernmost point to northernmost point

Sixty days on the road with two parents, two little boys and grandparents along for part of the ride, helping with a local cause in each community along the way.

Words you can use

“We're not trying to check places off a map. We're trying to slow down long enough to actually be in them — and to leave each one a little better than we found it.”

— Annalyse Nettles · On the spirit of the journey

“The best part of every stop is the people. We show up, we ask what would actually help, and then we do that — together.”

— Annalyse Nettles · On working with communities

“Our boys are growing up watching kindness be the plan, not the afterthought. That's the whole point.”

— Annalyse Nettles · On doing this as a family

“Anyone can leave a little love where they are. A cleanup, a favor, a few hours for a neighbor — it doesn't take a big trip. It just takes deciding to.”

— Annalyse Nettles · On inspiring others
