Seeing a security warning? It's usually not the site.
The site is safe and served over HTTPS. If your browser says the certificate is invalid, something on your device or network is likely inspecting the connection. Here is how to figure it out.
Why am I seeing a certificate warning?
A "certificate authority invalid" warning almost always means something between your browser and the site is intercepting the secure connection. The site's certificate is valid; your device or network is the one raising the flag.
The most common causes are:
- Antivirus or security software with "HTTPS scanning" or "web shield" turned on
- A VPN, proxy, or firewall inspecting traffic
- A corporate, school, hotel, or public Wi-Fi network that filters connections
- Your device's date, time, or time zone set incorrectly
- An old browser or operating system that no longer trusts newer certificate authorities
Is the site actually secure?
Yes. leavealittleloveproject.com is served over HTTPS with a valid SSL certificate from a trusted certificate authority. Your connection to the site is encrypted. The warning is a local issue, not a sign that the site has been compromised.
The fastest check: try your phone on cellular data
This is the quickest way to isolate the problem. Turn off Wi-Fi on your phone and open the site using cellular data.
- If it loads fine, the issue is your Wi-Fi network, VPN, or the security software on the original device.
- If it still warns, the issue is more likely the device clock, browser, or an outdated operating system.
Check your device's date and time
Certificates are only trusted within their valid date range. If your computer's clock is off by more than a few minutes, browsers reject perfectly valid certificates. Set your date, time, and time zone to update automatically, then reload the page.
Try a different browser or a private window
Browser extensions, cached security errors, or outdated certificate stores can cause false warnings. Try the same link in a different browser, an incognito/private window, or after clearing the cache for this site.
Quick things to try, in order
- Open the site on your phone using cellular data (not Wi-Fi).
- Turn off any VPN or antivirus "web/HTTPS scanning" feature and reload.
- Make sure your device's date, time, and time zone are set automatically.
- Try a different browser or a private/incognito window.
- Restart your router if you are on public or shared Wi-Fi.
